Tudors wins an IFTA!

While Jonathan didn’t win for Best Actor at the Irish Film and Television Awards over the weekend, “The Tudors” did win Best Drama Series/Soap. Also winning from the show were Joan Bergin for Best Costume Design and Tom McInerney and Dee Corcoran for Best Make Up & Hair. Congratulations to all the winners!

Irish Awards nominations announced!

For the fourth year in a row, Jonathan has again received a nomination for Actor in a Lead Role for “The Tudors” from the Irish Film & Television Academy. He won in 2008 for his first season playing King Henry. This is now his last opportunity to be honored for his work in “The Tudors” for the final season. BAFTAs Alert!

Jonathan is scheduled to be a presenter in Sunday night’s BAFTAs. They’ll be broadcast in the UK on February 21 starting on BBC Three at 7:30pm for red carpet highlights. Then at 9pm on BBC One will be the full awards ceremony. BBC America will also be airing the awards ceremony starting at 8pm and repeating at 10:30pm this Sunday. And reminder that the Irish Film & Television Awards are airing live on RTÉ One at 9:30pm tonight. It’s unknown if Jonathan will be attending.

Jonathan didn’t win at this year’s Irish Film and TV Awards in his category. He also didn’t attend the ceremony. From the Herald comes word that he was unable to attend due to personal reasons. The 6th Annual Irish Film & Television Awards nominees were announced today. Jonathan was nominated for Best Actor in a Lead Role for “The Tudors” second season. “The Tudors” also received 6 additional nominations for Ciaran Donnelly as Best Director, Peter O’Toole as Best Supporting Actor, Maria Doyle Kennedy as Best Supporting Actress, Costume Design, Make Up & Hair, and Production Design.
