It’s fabulous!
From the press release by the production company behind the ad:
The full array of talents behind bicoastal U.S. creative production company Stardust Studios (www.stardust.tv) are on display in a new print and television campaign for Hugo Boss Green debuting worldwide. Together with the brand’s marketing executives and the creative team from Paris-based Callegari Berville Grey, Stardust’s owner and creative director/director Jake Banks helped to create the new look for — while also designing and directing — the breaking cross-media campaign’s bold print and TV ads, which star Golden Globe-winning actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers and introduce the new cologne for men.
The campaign’s ads feature Meyers and the distinctive Hugo Green bottle in a stylized blending of live-action elements with 3D designs and flowing motion graphics. “We came up with the unique visual aesthetic to unify the personalities of Jonathan and Hugo Green, with an overriding theme of irreverence,” Banks explained. “In this world we created, everything is possible, and Jonathan is taking control. It’s a simple story, told in a way that is visually stunning.”
“In the illustrations, we show the world we created for Jonathan,” Banks said, “and those turned out to be sort of a storyboard to determine the look and feel of where the TV needed to go.” Stardust’s team then artistically composited together all the live-action and animated elements to create the finished :30, :20, :15 and :10 TV ads.

FashionTribes has a preview of the Hugo Boss ad campaign featuring Jonathan and this to say:
Starting in December, sex god Jonathan Rhys Meyers - who most recently appeared opposite Scarlett Johansson in Woody Allen’s latest, Match Point - will be the face of the P&G-owned Hugo Boss. Rankin-shot print ads will appear in Men’s Health and Blender. Additionally, a Hugo by Hugo Boss Limited Art Edition flanker will be available in 2,000 department and specialty stores starting in February. A gambit to make the label appeal to younger, cooler hipsters, Rhys Meyers marks the first time that Boss has used a celebrity… probably, in part, because of the hefty price tag: rumor has it the actor is pulling in a cool million — annually! - to shill for the brand.

Details on the Hugo Boss ad campaign from Contact Music:
RHYS MEYERS’ FRAGRANT AMBITION
Hollywood actor JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS is the new face of Hugo Boss. Launching in December, the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III star will appear in an advertising campaign that aims to boost the Hugo Boss fragrance franchise in the US. President of Proctor + Gamble Prestige’s US division DON LOFTUS says, “We see a real opportunity with this brand. Hugo Boss does very strong business on a global scale, but the US fragrance business is underdeveloped. We haven’t peaked with it yet.”

And Showtime has started to show promos for “The Tudors” (thanks Barb) so be on the look out!
Jonathan is featured in the June issues of Instyle (as a Man of Style) and Out (called “Hottest Straight Guy We Wish Was Gay”) magazines. And the Versace and Hugo Boss rumors appear to be true. He has signed deals to appear in ad campaigns for both companies. From the Irish Examiner:
Speaking from a promotional tour in Amsterdam, Rhys-Meyers said: “They felt it was the right time to ask me and, naturally, I jumped at the chance.” And he joked: “It’s certainly handy to earn the extra few bob, although I will get a mocking from my friends back in Cork.”
