For the first time, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the top 10 finalists for Best Drama and Best Comedy series. In previous years, lists would leak based on insider information and speculation. This year, the Academy has officially released the list.
“The Tudors” has made it to the top 10 list for Best Drama series for the first time. It was widely known that it did not make the top 10 list last year. This weekend, the top 10 list will be whittled down to just 5 nominees after each episode is viewed by special judges (their rankings are combined with the popular votes already received).
The full list of Emmy nominations will be announced the morning of July 17. Here’s the list of 10 finalists:

Jonathan attended yesterday’s Emmy Awards and looked splendid on the red carpet. “Elvis” did not manage to win any awards. Jonathan also attended 2 pre-Emmy parties: Entertainment Weekly’s pre-Emmy party and the 3rd annual BAFTA tea party, both held on September 17.
Back from vacation and to report the great news that Jonathan has been nominated for an Emmy! Elvis received a total of 6 nominations for Casting, Costumes, Supporting Actor (Randy Quaid), Supporting Actress (Camryn Manheim), Outstanding Miniseries, and Lead Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie for Jonathan’s portrayal of Elvis Presley. The 57th annual Emmy awards will be telecast on September 18 at 8pm on CBS. Congratulations to Jonny and the entire cast and crew of “Elvis”!
In other news, Jonathan is now in Rome where production has started on “Mission Impossible III”.
