Answers

  1. Where are the naked pictures?
I am often sent emails asking for screen grabs from “The Governess” or “The Tribe” that show all of Jonathan, sans clothes. You won’t find any explicit shots on this site however. I feel those images really belong in the context of the film and not as freeze frame shots on an internet site. Of course, people are curious, and there is no shame in that so you might try your own searching on the internet. They are definitely out there, you just won’t find any here.
  2. Is this website official?
No. This website is an unofficial non-profit fansite. There is no official website currently authorized by Jonathan on the web. The JRMfansite has been noticed however, by people in contact with Jonathan’s management. They have been a wonderful resource in providing information and images that would otherwise be impossible to obtain. I was asked by Jonathan’s management if this website could be listed on fan letters that Jonathan sends out to those who’ve written to him. It is very cool that Jonathan and his management appreciate the website and his growing number of admirers.
  3. Do you get paid to run this site?
No. The Jonathan Rhys Meyers fansite is completely non-profit. Google ad banners run on the site to help partially cover the cost of website hosting.
  4. Do you know Jonathan personally?
No. However, Jonathan is apparently aware of the site. He’s seen it and likes it. That to me is the biggest compliment there is.
  5. Can I link to your site?
Of course! It’s a great compliment whenever someone puts up a link to this site. It’d be great if you could let me know because I love to check out new sites.
  6. Can I use your images?
Feel free to use most of the images found on this site for your own personal use. Some have been sent to me so I may use images that I don’t know came from another site. If you ever see that I am using an image that you know you scanned, please let me know so that I can give proper credit or take the image down. I also try to give everyone who has sent me images thanks but since I do get a lot of emails and I’m only human, I know I’ve missed a few people. So if you feel slighted, please contact me to jog my memory.

The vast majority of the images found on this site I have scanned myself or someone has scanned for me to share with fellow fans. It would be nice if you cited the JRMfansite as credit for your images along with a link back. There are some images on this site that I have received permission to post. Those can be found in the fan art, candid, and childhood section of the Gallery. Images in this section should not be used elsewhere unless you get permission from the copyright holder. I also have made a number of screen captures from various projects of Jonathan’s. I have put the site name and/or url in these images as a watermark. If you want to use any of those images, feel free but please do not alter those images to take out the watermark.

  7. Who runs this website and why?
My name is Alyse and if you are at all curious about the woman behind this website, you can view my site collective, pop-trash.com. You can find links to other websites I run.

I first discovered Jonathan in “The Maker” back in 1997. Being a fan of Ewan McGregor, I had heard the name Jonathan Rhys Meyers as an actor Ewan was going to work with in a new project. One day, I was channel surfing when I stumbled on “The Maker”. Within moments, Jonathan had me hooked. I didn’t know his name but thought, who is this new American actor? He’s really great. I waited for the credits and was very surprised and excited to find out that it was the same Jonathan Rhys Meyers that would be in “Velvet Goldmine”. I went on the web shortly after wanting to learn more about him and was even more surprised to learn he was Irish. His American accent in “The Maker” had me fooled. After more searching, I became disappointed there was very little information available about him. I decided to start up a website in an attempt to find out more and because I had a feeling he was going to be an actor to definitely watch in the coming years.

This website started out as one small page and has gone through many makeovers and changes through the many years it’s been running. With the support of so many of you, who visit daily and have contributed with news and images, the JRMfansite has evolved into something I never expected. I’m quite proud of this website and am very happy that I am able to provide a resource for fellow Jonathan fans. I run the JRMfansite for all of you and in respect to Jonathan as a talented and unique actor and person. I strive to provide an informative, respectful, and high quality website. And hope the JRMfansite comes close to offering that to you.
