Showtime is releasing a series of podcasts featuring Jonathan talking about the making of “The Tudors”. You can subscribe or download them. The reviews keep rolling in for “The Tudors” and the Emmy buzz is growing (with a strong push by Showtime of course). A few choice quotes: I have precisely three words to describe to why you must watch this Sunday’s premiere of the new Showtime series The Tudors: Jonathan. Rhys. Meyers. - E! Online
Added more images to the Gallery from last Monday night: The Tudors LA premiere (+24) The Tudors LA after party (+37) Thanks Silvia, Mouret and the various sources used. It would not be impossible without their contributions!
Jonathan has been seen out and about in Los Angeles and New York City as he attends “The Tudors” premieres and makes the press rounds. He is also setting up his new home in Los Angeles. E! Online has a great video interviewing Jonny from the Los Angeles premiere. Be sure to watch the whole thing. I’m slowly adding images from this week’s events (as well as past ones). There are so many new goodies for us to enjoy but I have not had the time to keep up....
“The Tudors” premiered last night at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. Jonathan attended looking very happy and dashing. Photos from the premiere and after party will be posted as I gather them up. Be sure to check out the various entertainment shows tonight for possible coverage (ET, Extra, Access Hollywood, The Insider). Tomorrow evening there will be another premiere party in New York. This will be followed up by Jonathan’s appearance on The View on Thursday morning. According to the NY Post, the NY premiere party will be held...
A few early notices for Jonathan’s performance as Henry VIII in “The Tudors”: Jonathan Rhys Meyers brings virile wattage to this 10-part project as young King Henry VIII — whose onscreen image has normally resembled Orson Welles in “Touch of Evil” — in a narrative that meanders occasionally during its first six installments but seldom fails to entertain. - Variety
Jonathan will be making another appearance on The View. This time promoting “The Tudors” on Thursday, March 29. TVGuide.com is listing that Jonathan will be a guest on the show again on Wednesday, April 4 but there’s no confirmation of this yet on ABC’s website. Stay tuned as there is bound to be more TV appearances for “The Tudors” promotion blitz. Reviews are just now starting to come in. Another post will follow highlighting some of the early notices. The general consensus is very positive!
Great news for those who want to catch Jonathan in his Golden Globe winning performance as Elvis again! Showtime is reairing “Elvis” on March 31st at 8:00pm. It’s 3 hours long without commercials breaks.
Brightcove is one of the various places you can watch the first two episodes of “The Tudors” online (word is they have been edited to remove some nudity from the version that will air on Showtime). They also have several of the trailers and features up in good quality. Showtime’s Youtube channel has also posted some of the new clips. Showtime is also running a sweepstakes contest for some pretty cool prizes. Below is the Star Rising clip all about Jonny that is a must for any fan:
From LA Daily News comes word that “August Rush” may be released in October: ROCK MUSICAL `AUGUST RUSH’ STARS JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS, KERI RUSSELL: It now looks like a mid-October release date for Warner Bros. “August Rush” — the unusual Jonathan Rhys Meyers-Keri Russell-Robin Williams-Freddie Highmore film with fantasy elements that was once expected this past February. Consider the more prestigious debut date an in-house endorsement of the film. “It’s a rock musical about a child prodigy,” says Five for Fighting’s John Ondrasik, who supplied a tune for the...
Jonathan has been nominated for Best Sort in the 2007 Movie Extra Filmink Awards in Australia. You can vote online. I have no idea what Best Sort means but judging from his fellow nominees it might have to do with being hot in “Match Point”. If you’re a Showtime VIP Insider, you can now preview the first two episodes of “The Tudors” online.
