Jonathan honored in Cork

Last week, Jonathan was honored in Cork, Ireland for his Golden Globe win. Cork held a civic reception in his honor and to award him with the Cork Person of the Month award. Jonathan also joined Cillian Murphy to launch the 4th Jameson Dublin International Film Festival.

Academy Awards

The 78th Academy Awards Nominations were announced this morning. “Match Point” received one nomination for Best Original Screenplay! Congratulations to Woody Allen! And Jonathan will be a presenter at the 2006 Meteor Ireland Music Awards. They are being held at the Point Theatre this Thursday and will be broadcast on RTÉ2 at 9pm on February 5.

Exciting news to report about an interesting new project for Jonathan. From Zap2It: Showtime has snagged “Elvis” and “Match Point” star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers to take the lead role in “The Tudors,” a new series doubling as drama and English history lesson. Jonathan’s appearance on the View has been rescheduled to Thursday, January 19. His appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live airs tonight on ABC at 12:05 am.

Jonathan did not appear on the View this morning. He was substituted with someone else. He is still set to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow night. The show is taping this evening in Los Angeles. Jonathan is also set to attend this Sunday’s Tea Party put on by BAFTA in Los Angeles. As well, he is expected to attend the Golden Globe Awards also held in Los Angeles, which is airing live on NBC on January 16, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
