Happy Now at film festival

“Bend It Like Beckham” is being released in Australia on July 4. For those in Toronto, Canada, you get the chance to see “Happy Now”, premiering at Britpics 2002, a film festival for the best of new British cinema. Good news regarding the possible US release of “Bend It Like Beckham”. Fox Searchlight Pictures has reportedly bought the distribution rights to this film. Some rumors going around that “Bend It Like Beckham” will have a late 2002 US release date. We can only hope. Apparently, “Tangled” is going to be released in France May 15th under the title “Love Trouble”. “Tangled” may also be hitting Canadian theatres in mid July. According to Yahoo News, “Bend It Like Beckham” was the top movie in the UK over the weekend, earning an estimated $1.8 million in just two days. It did far better than “Queen of the Damned”, which took in only $910,000 in three days.
