Here comes Mr. Rhys Meyers, who is kind as always. He takes off his glasses for the TV cameras, and I catch him careening on his tip-toes. What?! He’s also wearing high-heeled boots. Still, he’s a true movie star, and game for everything.

In fact, girlfriend Reena is wearing her holiday swag tonight.

“We went to Christian Louboutin at Christmas and went crazy,” the Irish actor says.

“They’re on my feet right now,” the beauty says, basking in the heat. (She was shivering outside.)

What surprised him about Mr. Travolta?

“You imagine how people are and then you work with them, and obviously they’re going to be different,” Jonathan tells me. “He’s an incredibly nice guy. Sometimes you’re shocked. I find the more successful – the bigger stars that I work with, the nicer they are.”

Jonathan has high praise for the Grease icon’s mission to Haiti.

“That’s who he is as a person,” he says. “He wasn’t doing it because ‘hey, I’m a movie star and I’ve got an airplane. Let me fly down here and give you guys something.’ He did it because he’s John. And that’s just who he is. I wasn’t surprised.”

Variety:

Rhys Meyers said the thriller appealed to him because he got to play a role in which he “wasn’t the manipulator.”

For the star, who worked on pic in late 2008, after completing season three of “The Tudors” and “Shelter” with Julianne Moore, the hardest part of the France shoot was “maintaining the high level of energy” that the film demanded.

“By the time Christmas came, I slept through the entire holiday,” he said.

Almost 3 years ago, I started the JRMfansite livejournal community. It’s grown to 130 members. The purpose remains unchanged. All news and updates posted here are crossposted there. It’s also this site’s backup in case of any server problems.

Last April, I started a JRMfansite Twitter. I had no idea if anyone would find it useful but it’s quickly reached 206 followers and growing. Each time this site is updated, a tweet goes out.

Today, I finally got around to starting a JRMfansite Facebook fan page. If you become a fan, each time this site is updated, you should see a status update in your live feed.

What’s the next step? Any suggestions?

2010 is just around the corner. The premiere of the last season of “The Tudors” and 2 new Jonny films on the horizon. Expect a site redesign in the works too. Big thanks to all long time and new visitors for keeping this site going for so long!!!

Reena, 23, who is the creative director of Urban Retreat, the beauty company founded by her father, George, tells me that she has stuck by the 32-year-old actor, despite reports that she had dumped him because of his drunken behaviour.

“We have been together through everything in the past five years,” she says. “Marriage has come up a few times as we have been together for so long: it would be lovely. I am still young and there is no rush, but you never know.”

The couple will be entertaining both sets of family this Christmas at their house in London. “I will be cooking for 10 people, which is quite scary,” she says.
