Jonathan to receive Irish Post award
Jonathan is set to receive the Legend award at this October’s Irish Post Awards!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ achievements in film and television are to be recognised at this year’s Irish Post Awards.
The Cork-raised actor will receive the Legend award in recognition of his 20-year long career. He will also attend the black-tie event in London this October.
Rhys Meyers first sprung to public attention in 1996 with the movie The Disappearance of Finbar. He has since been nominated for Golden Globe and Emmy Awards and has appeared in a raft of successful movies, including Velvet Goldmine, Mission Impossible III, Bend It Like Beckham, Match Point and The Mortal Instruments.
He has also played Elvis Presley in the biographical TV mini-series Elvis, starred as King Henry VIII in historical drama The Tudors and played Bram Stroker’s Dracula in the NBC series Dracula.
Irish Post publisher Elgin Loane said: “Jonathan has worked very hard from an early age in life and the story of his own career development is fascinating. We are delighted to be able to recognise and honour his remarkable accomplishments.”
This year’s Irish Post Awards will take place at the London Hilton on Park Lane on Thursday, October 23 and will feature a number of key personalities and speakers from the worlds of business, sport and showbiz.
TV presenter Eamonn Holmes will serve as the Master of Ceremonies, while details of other award winners will be announced in the coming weeks.
