This talented actor has touched many lives with all the roles he’s played and it’s always upsetting to hear troubling reports about his well being. The JRMfansite continues to support Jonathan professionally and personally as we chronicle and follow his career. Please join in wishing Jonathan and his family love, peace, and privacy during this difficult time.
UPDATE: According to the Hollywood Reporter, a source close to Jonathan says this was NOT a suicide attempt. Jonathan’s representatives have declined comment at this time. Please keep posting all of your wonderful comments in this thread. Comments are held for moderation and will not appear automatically.

I am hoping and praying that Jonathan is okay, and did not attempt suicide. The tabloids love this sort of sad story and usually run away with such nonsense. However, if it was not suicide, he certainly needs to find a reputable place for help. Either way it is just tragic.
Addiction and substance abuse has plagued him for quite a while now and it is just an awful thing to deal with. He has such amazing talent and it is just heartbreaking to watch this tragedy play out in the media. No matter what happens, he will always be an exceptional actor in my eyes. I hope to see him excel and be up on movie screen for many years to come! From a more personal point of view, human being to human being, I pray that he will finally be able to slay his addictions once and for all. Poor soul, I hope he has supportive people around him that will steer him in the right direction!

I lost my 23 year old son to suicide 16 years ago and I still have trouble understanding it. Please think of your family and how it would affect them before making the decision to end your life. You are such a beautiful person and so talented. I don’t know what problems you are having, but please get help. If you would just stop and think of what your family would go through if you ended your life, you would not go through with it. How would you feel if someone you loved with all of your heart took his own life? The pain never goes away. I will be praying for you. Jonathan, I know you may not read this but I really felt compelled to post this in hopes you would be able to see this.
My brother was diagnosed with esophageal cancer at age 31 and fought for a year before he went to his Heavenly home a year later at 32. I was his caregiver and I saw how hard he fought for his life and he LIVED it, not just existed.
Addiction is a heck of a demon. It won’t be easy to fight through it. Compared to what I saw my brother go through, though, and all the resources you can utilize for your own health, I hope that you will explore ways to be able to find some enjoyment out of it and value your own life. When you see someone fight so hard to live as he did, it gives you a whole new way to look at life and gives a big ol’ wakeup call.
I truly hope nothing but the best for you. Utilize support and the love of your family and friends. Appreciate what you do have and that this is something you can have some control over. Be well.

I just wanted to say that life will be better for you, so do not give up! Because committing suicide is not the answer to your problems. Believe me I know. I have been fighting with severe depressions for years and I even try to take my own life. Not once, but twice. The last time the doctors did not understand why I survived, I should have died, but thank God that I did not.
And today life is better. Not perfect, but ok. Actually, more than ok.
I guess in a way it is easier for me, because I can fight my demons alone, in private. You have to deal with your problems in the eyes of the public and in the press. But, it is possible for you too!
I wish you all the best! And rembember, life is so fragile, so hard sometimes, but its also so beautiful!

You are a crazy talented actor, and every single project you’re involved in improves immediately because of you. Also, despite never having met you unfortunately, all the stories I heard of people meeting you, tell me you are a wonderful person.

Not sure how to say anything – the only thing I feel I need to mention is: being an artist Jonathan is such a vulnerable and such an important human being at the same time. It would be great for him to know how meaningful his work is for people who watch him.
