Response to lawsuit
News about a civil lawsuit against Jonathan from an airline customer service director has hit the gossip and entertainment blogs. The JRMfansite does not condone the alleged behavior however, it’s important to clear up misconceptions that are now unfortunately out there. Jonathan was not arrested. This lawsuit has been filed almost a year after the incident in which no police reports were filed and no criminal charges were brought against him. This is a civil suit seeking money for damages only. Jonathan’s lawyer has released a strong statement in response to the lawsuit.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers responds to lawsuit
By Nicola Pittam Mar 17, 2011, 4:04 GMT
The Tudors’ star Jonathan Rhys Meyers has hit back at an airline worker who has slapped him with a lawsuit.
Meyers is being sued by Kathryn Williams who claims he assaulted, battered, and verbally abused her after being barred from stepping on an early morning flight.
But last night Meyer’s attorney Michael Miller released a statement saying the lawsuit was a ‘blatant attempt to shake down a celebrity’.
Miller said, ‘This is nothing more than a blatant attempt to shake down a celebrity, and it is not going to succeed.
‘Ms Williams began publicizing her allegations only after Mr Meyers said no to her demand to be paid an exorbitant amount of money for something that never happened.
‘The fact is that Mr Meyers and Ms Williams had no physical contact whatsoever nor was he verbally abusive.
‘It’s as simple as that. If we have to go to court to establish the truth, we will do just that – and we have no doubt that we will prevail.’
This is all the JRMfansite will post regarding the lawsuit unless there’s any further official statements from Jonathan’s lawyer, management, or PR. I hope this matter is settled justly without further distress to all parties involved. Thanks.
UPDATE: After all claims were rejected by Jonathan’s lawyer, the lawsuit was suddenly dropped with a complete retraction of the alleged behavior.
