Albert Nobbs finally confirmed and a go!

Filming on “Albert Nobbs” is set to begin this Monday in Dublin, Ireland. Glenn Close herself has confirmed that Jonathan will indeed be in the film in a small role. Brendan Gleeson and Maria Doyle Kennedy have also joined the cast along with Janet McTeer, Mia Wasikowska, and Aaron Johnson. The film will be shooting for seven weeks around Dublin and Wicklow. Transcribed from the press conference (please excuse any errors):

Glenn Close: I called up Johnny Rhys Meyers, and John Light whose also making it, were in Lion in Winter with me and thinking of this particular role and it’s again, just a grace note in the movie. And you know, everybody’s coming in… and we have one of the most over qualified casts I think I’ve ever been a part of. But I called up him up you know, saying would you consider coming in originally for three days, and he said without hestitation, “Yes,” he said, “I will be there for you.” That’s what he said. “And I have friends that will be there for you too.” That’s as much a part of the fabric of this movie as anything else.

You can watch the full press conference on the RTÉ website. We don’t get any insight into the role Jonathan plays but are told it will be an extremely fun role!
