August Rush clips

For any lucky students living in in New York City, you can attend a free screening of the “August Rush” on Monday, November 12.

November 1, 2007 – On Monday, November 12, the New York City Mayor’s Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, in conjunction with Warner Bros. Pictures and the Apollo Theater Foundation, will present “Careers in Entertainment: August Rush,” at the Apollo Theater. The event consists of a screening of the Warner Bros. film, August Rush, followed by a panel discussion in which the film’s director, Academy Award nominee Kirsten Sheridan, along with other members of the production team, will speak to students about working in the entertainment production industry. The panel will be free of charge.

Following the screening, Commissioner Oliver will moderate a panel discussion with director Kirsten Sheridan and other members of her production team, each of whom represent different sectors of the entertainment production industry. Panelists include:

Kirsten Sheridan, Director (DISCO PIGS, AUGUST RUSH; Screenwriter: IN AMERICA)
Richard Lewis, Producer (THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE, BROOKLYN RULES)
Mark Mancina, Composer (SHOOTER, TRAINING DAY)
John Davis, Storyboard Artist (THE DEPARTED, JUST MY LUCK)

The event begins at 10:00am. Doors open at 9:00am. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first served basis with a valid student ID. RSVP to message@film.nyc.gov by Thursday, November 8th. This event is presented in collaboration with Career Day at the Apollo, part of the Apollo Theater Education & Community Outreach Program.

In addition, it’s now being rumored that the premiere party for the movie is set for this Sunday, the 11th at the Ziegfeld Theatre in New York City.

    Love this movie. Very moving and gives you that feel good feeling like the previous these filmmakers have made.
